GET INVOLVED

A recent statistic said that over 64% of homeowners facing foreclosure walk away from their property without ever contacting their lender to see about their available options.  This is probably because the homeowner truly has no idea that there are any options available to them but moreover that they are perhaps too embarrassed to discuss their situation and would rather cut their losses and start clean and new without the torment of bad decisions haunting them for years to come.

Yes, we can all agree that there are some opportunists that simply took advantage of a thriving economy and out mortgaged themselves beyond their financial capabilities.  Should we have to bail them out?  We're not here to make that judgment call.   What we DO know is that there are actually many more out there that are drowning in their financial obligations and barely making ends meet, robbing Peter to pay Paul and stretching each dollar to the limit just to stay afloat.  Many people who were given no explanation as to the consequences of entering into any type of subprime loan or those nasty pay option arms and all that got stuck!

Remember when they told you at closing not to worry about the "type" of loan they were putting you in because you'd refinance before it mattered?  Well?

Deregulation of banks.  Clinton Administration.  Bush Administration.  Mortgage backed securities.  Greedy Wall Street.  Overzealous homeowners.  Doesn't matter who is at fault.  The point is that we are all in this together and we must all stick together to get out!

THE BEST WAY TO HELP YOURSELF IS BY HELPING YOUR NEIGHBOR!

The mortgage crisis we are all facing has become a global issue.  You are not alone in your inability to make your mortgage payment.  In fact, over 70,000 to 80,000 homes are being foreclosed every month in the United States.

If you have attempted to contact your servicing company to no avail, contact your local congressman, let them know!  If you have been victimized by predatory lending, share your story, don't just walk away!
